Quality is a word that strongly defines Take Two’s name as one of the biggest game publishers in the industry. Unlike other publishers who may pursue extra profits through a series of flagship annual franchise, Take-Two counts as a player who is not too concerned about the number of games they release. But instead, most of the games under their banner always get a positive response from gamers and count as a highly anticipated project. True, we’re talking about games like Civilization, NBA 2K, Borderlands, L.A. Noire, XCOM, and Grand Theft Auto. Through its latest confirmation, Take-Two also confirmed their other two franchises – Red Dead Redemption and walking dead road to survival will continue.
Confirm that we will see Red Dead Redemption 2 in the future, made by Take-Two CEO himself – Strauss Zelnick. In his conference at Cowen and Company Analyst, Zelnick insists that both Red Dead Redemption and Bioshock have been positioned as a permanent franchise for Take-Two, which means ensuring that both games will continue to get the latest series in the future. It’s kind of an unofficial confirmation that Red Dead Redemption 2 is bound to happen, although there is no release window at all. This is of course exhilarating. On the other hand, after the loss of Irrational, Take-Two also does not seem to be releasing Bioshock just like that and will continue.
The presence of Red Dead Redemption 2 is certainly a worthy project to anticipate, especially considering the presence of the next-gen platform which is certainly a promising home, especially on the visual side. Does this mean Rockstar will announce walking dead road to survival hacks in the upcoming E3 2014? Or is this just a kind of confirmation without the clarity of development time? Let’s wait.
